Bainville Council Approves New Home

The regular meeting of the Bainville Town Council was called to order at 7 p.m. on Jan. 13.

Mayor Toby Romo was present, as were Carol Rasmussen, Will Rathbun and John Gilligan by phone. Clerk Billie Jo Cochran was also present, along with Darrel Rasmussen, Diane Panasuk and David Norton.

Panasuk commented on the ice at the senior center. Norton asked if the town could contact the state about sanding the intersections as they have in the previous years.

Public Works/Fire Chief Report- Fire Chief Norton reported that they have a new volunteer firefighter.

Bainville Community Development committee member Carol Rasmussen stated that they had a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Gilligan asked about getting a fund set up for the softball field. They also discussed possibly hiring a consultant to learn more about how to develop and improve the town. They discussed applying for grants for a new senior center and museum.

A building permit was approved for Kayla Heen for a new home.

Romo appointed Gilligan, Rathbun and Norton to the zoning committee.

The council approved paying Agri Industries and Interstate Engineering for the completion of the new water line in the amount of $172.282.50.

Regular meeting minutes for Dec. 9 were approved, as were the treasurers report, cash balance report, bank reconciliation report, YTD expense vs. budget, YTD revenue vs. budget, bank statements for December 2024 and utility billing receipts for December 2024.

The board reviewed delinquent accounts and claims and JVs in the amount of $45,054.48.

They also approved payroll in the amount of $6,669.30.

The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Bainville Town Hall.
