Lustre Knocks Off Nashua Teams
Lustre came away with two conference basketball victories during action in Nashua on Friday, Jan. 24.
Lustre’s girls posted a 54-29 victory over Nashua.
The Lions jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 31-17 half-time advantage.
Lustre held a 43-23 advantage entering the final period.
Top scorers for the Lions were Lauren Fast with 13, Lauryn Holzrichter with 11 and Samantha Neufeld with 11 points.
Also scoring were Sidney Klatt with six, Hannah Brown with four, Ashtyn Traeholt with four and Abby Olfert with two.
Katey Dykstra scored 17 points for Nashua.
A big second quarter helped Lustre’s boys to a 7228 win.
Ahead 26-10 at the end of the first quarter, Lustre ran off 23 points in the second period to increase the gap to 49-14.
Lustre enjoyed a 72-23 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Byron Ewing finished with 23 points to lead the Lions. Also reaching double figures were Johnslee Pierre with 12 and Cam Reddig with 11 points. Rounding out the scoring were Diek Olfert with eight, Joel Reddig with seven, Clay Reddig with six, Hadden Olfert with three and Prestyn Klatt with two.
Noah Leckie scored 13 points for Nashua.
