Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 76 calls from Jan. 20-27.
The calls included: Jan. 20
Deputies responded to Brockton on a report of a domestic complaint regarding an adult female claiming her boyfriend was yelling and being aggressive. She said her boyfriend kicked and damaged the front door. The male left the residence. The female said she was going to request a restraining order against him.
Deputies received a call from Wolf Point tribal housing from an adult female who said she didn’t want her son’s girlfriend at her house. The son wanted the girlfriend there. Deputies advised that it was a civil matter.
Jan. 21
Deputies received a request from two adult females at the Stagecoach Bar in Culbertson. They said they were stranded. A deputy gave them a ride to a residence in Fort Kipp.
Two deputies assisted a male who located his stolen trailer at a residence in east Wolf Point tribal housing. Deputies accompanied him to recover the property.
Jan. 22
Deputies responded to Culbertson for a complaint of an individual abusing their cats. Deputies investigated the complaint.
Deputies received a report from a female at Poplar tribal housing that a Smart TV was missing from her residence.
Jan. 23 Deputies and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to a domestic abuse situation in Poplar. The female claimed she was hit by her boyfriend. Tribal police arrested the male and took him to tribal jail.
Deputies received a report of a protection order violation in Poplar. A house sitter said a female came to the residence, and the homeowner has a protection order against her. The woman left on her own.
Jan. 24
Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition for an adult female who wanted her boyfriend removed. Deputies gave the male a ride to another residence.
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar after receiving a call from an adult male that a group was trying to jump him and they had weapons. No one was arrested. Officers made sure the male was safe.
Jan. 25
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Idaho Street for a disturbance regarding a male raising problems on a street. Tribal police arrested the male and transported him to tribal jail.
Deputies responded to the west end tribal housing in Wolf Point for a domestic abuse incident. A female said her boyfriend shoved her down and stole her cellphone. Deputies provided a victim witness package. Deputies and FPTDLJ attempted to locate the suspect.
Jan. 26
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a domestic abuse call at Dad’s Bar in Wolf Point. Female said her boyfriend had abused her. Sam Birdtail, 36, was charged by tribal police with partner/ family member assault.
Deputies responded to the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson for a report of a combative patient. Officers helped calm the patient down.
Jan. 27
Deputies and FPTDLJ were notified by Valley County dispatch at 5:43 a.m. that an adult male had broke down a door, assaulted a female and fired a shot at her in Glasgow. He was believed to be heading east. Deputies received a report at 6:45 a.m. that Valley County had located the suspect.
The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office requested deputies to watch for a resident who had gone missing and had a vehicle. It was believed he was heading from the Plentywood area to Williston, N.D.
