Independence Bank Announces Promotion Of Colgan

Independence Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Cherry Colgan to the position of assistant branch president/operations supervisor for the Wolf Point and Poplar branches.
With over 15 years of dedicated service at Independence Bank, Colgan has played a pivotal role in both the bank’s operations and in the local community.
Her journey with Independence Bank began as a teller. After some time, she moved to the loan department as a loan assistant and soon thereafter was promoted to loan officer. Though still involved in lending, she then agreed to take on an additional role, supervisor of operations, where she quickly became known for her leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing exceptional service to customers.
Throughout her career, Colgan has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to both the bank and the community she serves.
Born and raised north of Poplar, she has deep roots in the area. She continues to work in her hometown, and lives along with her husband, Pat, and their daughter, Holly, on their family farm and ranch south of Poplar. Her son, Chris, and daughter- in-law, Journey, reside in Billings, but remain closely connected to their family’s operations.
In addition to her professional achievements, Cherry has always been actively involved in her community, contributing to local efforts, planning events and working with fellow community members. She serves on the FSA County Committee and volunteers with the Poplar Saddle Club, helping to organize and support activities for residents.
When she’s not working, she enjoys quilting, beading and spending time outdoors. She is an avid gardener, enjoys fishing, and loves horseback riding. In the winter, she often relaxes with audiobooks and podcasts, constantly looking for new recommendations.
“Cherry’s promotion is a reflection of her dedication and hard work over the years,” said Mike Leinen, Wolf Point/Poplar branch president of Independence Bank. “Her leadership, commitment to the community, and service focus make her the ideal person for this role. We are excited to see all that she will accomplish in this next chapter.”
