Bainville Defeats Froid/Lake Squads During District 2C Play

The Bainville Bulldogs posted two home basketball victories over Froid/Lake during league action on Saturday, Feb. 8. Bainville’s girls enjoyed a strong start and defeated Froid/Lake by a 38-29 final.

The Bulldogs gained a 12-6 advantage in the first quarter and increased the gap to 2510 at the half.

The Red Hawks fought back to 31-21 in the third quarter.

Hailey Berwick scored 13 points to lead Bainville’s attack.

Also scoring were Lila Butikofer with five, Tally Berwick with five, Elsie Wilson with four, Addison Hansen with four, Chandi Johnson with four and Miah Pippenger with three.

Brooklyn Nordwick finished with 10 points for the Red Hawks. Isabelle Nordwick added eight points. Also scoring were Addison Elvsaas with six and Mara Salvevold with five points.

Bainville’s boys posted a 62-43 victory over the Red Hawks.

After taking a 19-10 lead in the first quarter, the Bulldogs added 14 more points in the second period for a 33-17 advantage.

Bainville struck for 17 more points in the third quarter for a 50-28 lead.

Parker Berwick led the Bulldogs with 21 points.

Also reaching double figures were Reed Winn with 13 and Kaiden Holmes with 11 points.

Rounding out Bainville’s scoring were Isaiah Bjorge with eight, Rowan Wilson with six, Trevor Robertus with four, Carter Pacovsky with two and Seth Pacovsky with one.

Carson Kelm scored 18 and Cody Olson added 13 points for the Red Hawks.

Also scoring were Rylan Young with seven, Roberto Orozco with four and Eduardo Orozco with four.

Bainville will host Culbertson on Friday, Feb. 14, and travel to Brockton on Saturday, Feb. 15. Froid/Lake travels to Richey/Lambert on Friday, Feb. 14, and hosts Savage on Saturday, Feb. 15, to end the regular season.
