Wolves Drop Games In Malta

The Wolf Point Wolves dropped both conference basketball contests against strong Malta squads on Friday, Feb. 7.

Wolf Point’s girls came up short by a 63-41 final spread.

The M-ettes gained an 1811 lead in the first quarter and increased the gap to 34-17 at the half.

Malta outscored the Wolves by a 14-8 margin in the third quarter.

Brenna Blount scored 12 points to lead Wolf Point.

Also scoring were Marley Moran with six, Amelia Doney with five, Caitlyn Wilson with four, Mackenzie Jackson with four, Keely Blount-Henderson with three, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with two, Karmyn Plain Feather with two, Navella Weeks with two and Ali Corpron with two, In the boys’ game, Malta came away with a 90-47 victory.

Malta jumped out to a 32-8 lead in the first quarter as Bohdi Brenden hit five three-pointers in the period. The Mustangs held a 51-21 half-time advantage.

Wolf Point’s Zandon Calder scored eight points in the first half. Calder finished with 14 points to lead the Wolves. Also scoring were Roper Flaten with nine, Reed Garfield with eight, Richard Campbell with five, Sean Hamilton with four and Jett Azure with three.

Brenden accounted for 28 points including eight threepoint shots.
