Lustre Splits Contest Against Mavericks

Lustre’s boys’ basketball squad scored a 57-43 home win over North Country on Friday, Feb. 14.

The Lions got off to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter.

After holding a 28-20 halftime advantage, the Lions struck for 20 points in the third quarter for a 48-30 margin.

Leading Lustre’s attack were Johnslee Pierre with 16 and Byron Ewing with 14 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Clay Reddig with seven, Prestyn Klatt with six, Diek Olfert with five, Joel Reddig with five and Cam Reddig with four points.

Leading the Mavericks were Blaine Downing with 16 and Laytin Erickson with 14 points.

In the girls’ game, North Country posted a 57-5 victory.

The Maverick led 16-3 at the end of the first quarter and 39-3 at the half.

Scoring for the Lions were Lauryn Holzrichter with three and Samantha Neufield with two points.

CharLee McColly had 13 points for North Country.
