Train Derailment Reported Near Poplar

BNSF confirmed that at approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, that 12 train cars carrying mixed freight derailed near Poplar.

There were no injuries reported.

Crews worked at the to clear the incident as quickly and safely as possible. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.

A deputy from Roosevelt County spotted the derailment.

Roosevelt County Disaster and Emergency Services also responded to the scene.
