Cowgirls Lose Tournament Game To Fusion

The Culbertson Cowgirls fell against the Richey/Lambert Fusion, 68-21, during loser-out action at the District 2C tournament on Thursday.

The Cowgirls trailed by only a 14-8 margin at the end of the first quarter, but the Fusion struck for 27 points in the second quarter for a 41-15 half-time advantage.

Richey/Lambert led 62-16 after three quarters of play.

Stella Fox was Culbertson’s top scorer with 10 points. Ivy Colvin and Mariana Burciaga had three points each. Emma Berwick and Aubrey Salvevold had two points. Payton Labatte added a point.

Labatte grabbed nine rebounds in the contest.

Leading the Fusion were Jolee Klempel with 21, Keira Rains with 20 and Brynne Hill with 10 points.

Klempel finished with 11 rebounds. Leaders in steals were Rains with seven, Klempel with four and Hill with four. Klempel had five assists.
