Red Hawks Earn Win Over Brockton

Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball team scored a 53-44 opening round victory over Brockton in the district tournament on Wednesday.

After falling behind 12-9 in the opening quarter, the Red Hawks ran off 20 points in the second quarter to grab a 29-22 lead.

Froid/Lake held a 38-32 advantage after three quarters of action.

Reaching double figures for the Red Hawks were Mara Salvevold with 22, Brooklyn Nordwick with 13 and Isaabelle Nordwick with 11 points.

Also scoring were Keira Stentoft with five and Lilly Johnson with two points.

Salvevold finished with seven rebounds, three assists and five steals. B. Nordwick had four assists.

Leading the Warriors were Ava Lone Bear with 13 and Quintana Young with 11 points. Marlene Fish added eight points.
