Wolf Point Council Approves Two Police Officers At Meeting

The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting Feb. 18 in the council chambers. There was no public comment. Council members discussed plans to bring the Cowboy Hall of Fame to Wolf Point.

A Great Northern Development Corp. update was provided about the properties on Custer Street. MDU crews are waiting on warmer weather to install gas lines.

Greg Lukasik with Great West Engineering said they will create a task order for wastewater system improvements and said applications are being made for additional funding via HB355. A draw request was approved in the amount of $291,478.14. Lukasik said that Wolf Point has been approved for approximately $700,000 via CDBG for Phase 3 of the project.

Abatements were approved and lot cleanup efforts were discussed, including a pending deed transfer from Roosevelt County.

Monthly activity reports were presented by the Public Works Department and the Wolf Point Police Department. Two officers have been hired in Logan Bushman and Yvonne Wieser, bringing the department up to full staffing strength. Denny Reum was approved for a 50 cent per hour pay increase.

McDonald’s received a building permit for remodeling at its Wolf Point location.

Minutes were approved for the Dec. 16 meeting. The treasurer’s cash report was approved, as were claims and payroll.
