Robert Daniels Sr.

Robert Alvin “Bobby” Daniels Sr., 77, died Feb. 23, 2025, in Glendive.

He was the fourth child of Randolph and Mabel Daniels.

He married Iris Greybull and later divorced. From this union, came two children, Shari Daniels and Robert A. Daniels Jr. He had many adopted children including Jason Bighorn and Cheryl Bighorn. He was adopted by Clarence Longtree and held a special bond with Bobby and Sherry Longtree’s children, Olivia, Bobby, Kristina and Christopher Longtree.

He grew up and attended schools in Poplar. He could be found hanging out with friends, learning about automotive mechanics and woodworking. He also had a fondness for photography.

He knew he had a calling when the United States of America went to war. The Vietnam War was in full swing and he knew he needed to help his country to bring peace to our people. He was a proud Army and Marine and lived by the Marine Corps’ motto: Always Faithful “SEMPER FIDELIS.” Unity and Purpose, Warriorhood, Loyalty and Commitment.

He would lovingly tease and prank, his crabby exterior a cover up for his mischievousness. He knew all the sacred hunting sites and shared his knowledge with all those that went hunting and fishing with him. Always reminded everyone to treat the animals and areas with respect and honor.

He was the kind of man that never shied away from hard work. His courageous spirit showed in time where people in the whole country were protesting the Vietnam War. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps by choice and chose a job as a radio operator. The life expectancy for a radio operator during the Vietnam Was ranged between 5 to 6 seconds all the way up to a slightly-more-optimistic 30 seconds. He proved this statement false and returned home. He was always a guy who stood by the veteran
