The Culbertson Cowboys fell to a hot-shooting Circle squad, 65-37, during loser-out play at the Eastern C divisional tournament on Friday, March 6.

The three-point shooting of Kashua Ereaux and Owen Beery helped the Wildcats jump out to a 12-2 lead.

Culbertson responded with drives by Bridger Salvevold and Ian Snyder, but consecutive three-pointers by Xavier Nasner put the Wildcats up 18-7 to end the first quarter.

Nasner accounted for a three-point shot and a fourpoint play to highlight action early in the second quarter and put the Wildcats ahead 27-10.

Circle struck for 11 of the final 13 points of the second quarter for a 40-16 half-time advantage.

The Cowboys put together six straight points early in the third quarter on baskets by Mark Kirkaldie, Brooks Solem and Salvevold to pull to 42-22.

Circle went on to hold a 5431 advantage at the end of the quarter.

Top scorers for the Cowboys were Salvevold with 13 and Gavin Deen with 11 points.

Also scoring for Culbertson were Kirkaldie with seven, Solem with two, Plenny Williams with two and Snyder with two.

Deen grabbed 10 rebounds for the Cowboys.

Circle’s Nasner hit five three-pointers and finished with 23 points.

Also reaching double figures were Ereaux with 13 and Owen Beery with 12 points.

Duke Williamson had 13 rebounds and Ereaux added 12 rebounds for the Wildcats. Williamson had five assists.
