Man Faces Child Endangerment Charge

Patrick Leroy Gustafson is facing four charges, including one felony, in district court.

The felony charge is criminal child endangerment when he is accused of purposely or knowingly causing substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to a child under 14 years of age when he operated a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or dangerous drugs while his juvenile child was a passenger in the vehicle. The alleged incident occurred on Feb. 12.

In convicted of the felony charge, Gustafson faces of a fine of $50,00, 10 years in state prison or both.

Misdemeanor charges are driving under the influence, driving while license is suspended or revoked and unlawful possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle on a highway.
