Poplar Falls Against Glasgow Squad, 51-35

Glasgow enjoyed a good start against a cold-shooting Poplar team and eliminated the Indians, 51-35, at the divisional tournament on Saturday.

The Scotties jumped out to a 14-0 lead. Highlights included two three-pointers by Myles Yoakam.

Poplar got on the scoreboard when Blake Lambert drove in for a basket at the 1:52 mark.

A turnaround jumper by Wyatt Babb put Glasgow up 16-2 at the end of the opening quarter.

The scoring of Walker Burshia and Ryder Olson helped the Indians stay in the game during the second quarter. Six points by Babb late in the quarter put Glasgow up by a 27-12 half-time margin.

Three-pointers by Kaniel Ricker led the Indians back to 35-22, but Glasgow went on to a 42-24 lead at the end of the third quarter.

After Poplar came as close as 47-35 in the third quarter, two inside shots by Cade Hudyma put Glasgow up by a 16-point margin.

Ricker led the Indians with 12 points while Burshia and Ryder Olson added eight points. Also scoring were Lambert with four, Dane Moran with two and Wilder Bearcub with one. Leading Glasgow were Babb with 19 and Hudyma with 16 points. Hudyma had 12 rebounds.

The top three teams at the tournament were Malta, Harlem and Glasgow.
