Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 89 calls from March 3-10.
March 3
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice for a report of a fight at Dad’s Bar between two females. One adult female said she was assaulted by the other. The suspect had run out the back door.
March 4
Deputies responded to the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar for a report of an intoxicated male. He was provided a ride home.
March 5
Deputies received a report from Froid School regarding a loose dog chasing students. The deputy located the dog and the dog’s owner. The dog was locked up in his kennel.
Deputies received a report from Tribal Express in Poplar regarding a male trying to use counterfeit money to purchase products. The suspect said he picked up the $100 bill and didn’t know it was fake. Jerod Starr, 65, was charged with attempted forgery, forgery and theft. He was taken to tribal adult jail.
March 6
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and FPTDLJ for a report of a male screaming in front of Town Pump in Wolf Point. He was detained and arrested. He was taken to the adult jail in Poplar.
Deputies responded to Bainville’s city limits for a report from an adult male that another adult male was harassing and threatening him.
Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition’s tribal housing for a report that a male assaulted a female at the residence. The male left the residence on his own.
March 8
Deputies/coroner assisted FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point ambulance regarding a deceased male. The incident wasn’t suspicious in nature.
March 9
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point ambulance and FPTDLJ at the underpass in Wolf Point with an adult male who had tipped over his wheelchair. He was taken to the hospital.
Deputies received a report of two sisters fighting in Fort Kipp. One female tested positive for alcohol and was issued a citation to tribal court.
