Students Celebrate During Dr. Suess Week
In order to promote reading, Wolf Point’s elementary schools conducted activities in honor of Dr. Suess’ birthday last week.
On Monday, March 3, Southside Elementary School students dressed up like they were 100 years old in recognition of the 100th day of school.
Students wrote done where they would want to be when they grow up on Tuesday with the theme of “Oh, the Places You Will Go!”
In honor of Fox in Socks, students and staff members worn their favorite crazy socks to school on Wednesday.
To cap off the week, Southside students dressed as their favorite Dr. Suess character on Thursday.
Wolf Point’s kitchen crew was busy as they prepared Dr. Suess type meals such as green eggs and ham. Dr. Suess-themed parfaits were also provided to students.
Read Across America Week is celebrated March 2-6 — it begins on the birthday of the beloved author, Dr. Seuss. The entire month of March, in fact, is dedicated to reading. The National Education Association aims to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults.
