TEB Approves Star Quilt For Standing Family
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its full board meeting on Monday.
The board approved the Branch of Corrections to hire Joanne Strange Horse from temporary appointment to permanent appointment. They also approved a motion to honor the family of Gifford Standing with a star quilt and $500.
Frazer Schools District 2 and 2B were approved to collaborate with the education department in securing and implementing the necessary support for the distance learning/telemedicine grant.
HPDP Deputy Natalie Weeks O’Neal was granted permission to travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to try to retrieve a grant for School Based Clinics for Fitness and Mental Health Wellness.
The board approved the reduction of Head Start enrollment from 212 to 172 while maintaining the original awarded grant funding.
The Title 27 draft gaming ordinance was approved, initiating a public comment for 30 days.
Jackie Azure was approved for hire in the HR director position.
A gift for the family of Robert Daniels was approved in the amount of $500.
The board authorized the tribal operations officer to disburse payment to Elk River for legal services rendered for the month of January in the amount of $2,064.
The board voted to renew the contract resolution number 32-375-2024-02 for Suzanne Boyd to provide social work services to the Fort Peck Dialysis Unit at a rate of $85 per hour not to exceed $30,000 per year.
A contract renewal was approved for Tanya Firemoon as CHAP Consultant Tribal Health Department, extended to December 29.
A letter of support was approved for Medicaid Reimbursement Improvement Needed for Stat Air Ambulance Services. The reclassification by the Human Resource Department of the Trauma Informed Advocate/Education and Awareness Outreach coordinator was approved and a yearly grade/step increase funding was allocated from the DOJ/OVC grant funds.
The board approved a onetime compensatory adjustment of $1,500 for Melanie Sorenson LAC, covering clinical supervision duties and responsibilities performed from November 2024 – February 2025, ensuring uninterrupted compliance with state license requirements and a temporary wage increase of $3 per hour for Melanie Sorenson LAC, effective until the clinical supervisor licensed addiction counselor position is filled, ensuring continued billable service provision, provider compliance and quality patient care. The board also approved a one-time compensatory adjustment of $1,500 for Connie Dorwart LCPC, covering clinical supervision performed from November 2024- February 2025. A one-year renewal contract was approved for PRN Staffing Solutions contract effective Feb. 10 and ending on Feb. 10, 2026.
The board authorized an agreement between Fort Peck Tribal Health and Loveland Consulting not to exceed the amount of $35,000 for services rendered.
The State of Montana Marijuana agreement was approved.
A contract with CKF Consulting was approved for 45 weeks beginning March 10 and ending on January 19, 2026, in the amount of $100,000.
A contract was approved from Corland Construction for the “Fort Peck Tribes – New Tribal Health Motor Pool Storage Facility, Foundations and Finishing Project” in the amount of $998,400 from Tribal Health ARPA funds.
The ARPA Program’s request to hire Tyler Kraft as a seasonal construction laborer was approved until all ARPA projects are complete and funding availability ends under the supervision of Samantha Youngman.
The board approved a change order for RFS, LLC and also accepted the proposals from CCC Construction, Moonlight Concrete, and Hi-Line Concrete Coating. The total increase will be $9,285.78, increasing the total amount of the contract to $274,593.78. for the Head Start Project The next full board meeting is set for March 24.
