Gymnasts Place At Jamestown Meet
The Winter Escape gymnastics meet was held in Jamestown, N.D. on Feb. 15-16. Eastern Montana Gymnastics had 11 event championships in their age groups. In bronze, River Darby placed first on vault and floor out of all 51 gymnasts.
Maysen Sikveland was first on vault and balance beam for her age group in silver, while teammate Frankie Darby was first on balance beam and floor.
Gold gymnasts Ila Lehner, Ava Hove and Kendra Linder won event championships as well, with Lehner winning uneven bars and balance beam, Hove winning floor and Linder taking the gold on vault, uneven bars and floor.
EMG came home with four all-around champions, with River Darby, Sikveland, Frankie Darby and Linder earning trophies for their first-place awards. As a team, EMG was fourth out of 10 teams in the silver level. The gold team won first place by .05 over a strong team from Fargo, N.D.
