Brockton Lines Up Good Athletes For Upcoming Track Season


The Brockton Warriors are starting the track season with six athletes including five girls.
Brockton Coach Evan Cummins feels distance runs should be a strong suit for the Warriors.
“We have two of them who will hopefully to make state this year,” Coach Cummins said.
The squad consists of three juniors, a sophomore and two freshmen.
Members of the squad include Reese DeCoteau, who will compete in throwing events, 100, long jump and relays.
BraeLynn DeMarrias, a freshman, earned All-State honors during the cross-country season. She is anticipated to be competitive in the 800, 1600 and 3200.
Jade Olney, a freshman, will run the 100, 400 and 1600. Raykira Track, a junior, competes in the 100 and throwing events.
Taylor Cummins, a junior, will also be strong in the 1600, 3200 and 100.
Ronnie Black Dog, a junior, is the lone boy on the squad. He will compete in the 100, shot put and discus.
