Culbertson Works To Contend In District During Track Season

The Culbertson High School track program features 25 athletes including 16 boys this campaign.
Coach Dave Solem is pleased with the squad’s attitude heading and is looking forward to a successful year.
“It’s a good bunch,” Solem said. “They want to be out.”
Culbertson’s athletes with state meet experience include Reese Moon in jumps, Aden Drake in hurdles, Bridger Salvevold in sprints, Plenny Williams in the discus and Emma Berwick in the girls’ discus.
Weights should be a strong area for the Cowboys with Williams, Brooks Solem and Gavin Deen among the competitors.
Cal Steppler and Colin Purvis are anticipated to be the boys’ team’s top distance runner.
In the girls’ throwing events, Berwick. Leandra Perkins and Serenity Wilbanks should fare well for the Cowgirls.
Top jumpers include Bella Petersen and Emilynn Powell.
Rebekah Ellerkamp should fare well in distance runs for the Cowgirls.
Coach Solem expects Plentywood’s boys and Savage’s girls to be the teams to beat in the district.
