Froid/Lake Golf Features Returning Players
The Froid/Lake golf program has a turnout of nine golfers to start the season under new head coach Autumn Murray.
Murray’s golf background includes taking up the sport and playing it quite a bit as an adult.
“It came down to the final day and no one had signed up,” Murray said of why she took over the duties. “I didn’t want the program to cease to exist. I have a passion for golf.”
The squad includes five returning players including senior Addison Elvsaas, who qualified for the state tournament last season. Other golfers back are Milo Stangeland, Trent Williams, Aleah Hobbs and Cody Olson.
Murray said she had each player write down their goals on a piece of paper. “There were a couple who want to make it to state and others who just want to improve.”
Early season workouts have included going to Sidney and using the simulators there. Plans are to golf on the range in Plentywood during the pre-season.
The Red Hawks plan to open their season in Wolf Point on April 17.
