Lady Wolves Win Title At Indoor Meet

Wolf Point’s girls’ track squad opened its season with a bang as the Wolves topped the team standings with 121 points during an indoor meet in Williston, N.D. on Saturday, March 22.

Individuals earning firstplace honors were Navella Weeks with a time of 29.86 in the 200, Addy Smith with a time of 67.71 in the 400, Marley Moran with a best of 81-07 in the javelin and AnnaLeigh Matejovsky with a mark of 14-6 in the long jump and a best of 30-3 in the triple jump.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring Smith, Harper Weeks, N. Weeks and Amirah Oleyte finished first. The 800-meter relay team consisting of N. Weeks, Smith, H. Weeks and Matejovsky placed second.

Taking second were Smith in the long jump and H. Weeks in the high jump. Placing third were Amya Martinez in the shot put, H. Weeks in the 60-meter hurdles, Oleyte in the long jump and Matejovsky in the pole vault.

Placing fourth were Smith in the 60 and Ma’kenzie Jackson in the shot put. Taking fifth were Matejovsky in the 60 and Smith in the 200, N. Weeks was sixth and H. Weeks took eighth in the 60. Oleyte was seventh in the 200 and Moran took seventh in the shot put. Ali Corpron placed eighth in the shot put.

In the boys’ division, Wolf Point took ninth place with 14 points.

Tavian Bell placed third in the pole vault and third in the 1600. Griffin Azure earned fifth place in the triple jump.

The Wolves will compete in Glasgow on Saturday, March 29.
