Poplar Enjoys Good Turnout For Track Campaign

With 37 athletes out for the sport, Poplar is looking forward to a successful track season in 2025.

The squad is guided by veteran coaches Brent Moore, Karolyn Kohl and John Wetsit.

Coaches say the team is pretty much equally divided between boys and girls.

Returning Poplar boys who came closest to qualifying for the state meet last season were Walker Burshia in the shot put, Wilder Bearcub in the 800-meter run and Keilen Erickson in throwing events.

Distance runs should be a solid area for Poplar’s boys with Eljin Grey Bear, Issac Irizarry and Raylando Red Eagle leading the way.

Poplar’s girls look to get stronger in distance runs and throwing events as the season progresses.
