Wolf Point Golfers Feature Three Returnees, More Girls

Coach Rodney Paulson is pleased with the turnout this season for Wolf Point’s golf team.
The program consists of 16 golfers including nine boys. “The majority are eighth, ninth and 10th graders,” Paulson said. “A lot of beginners,” he noted. The boys with a good amount of varsity playing experience are Chaz Kegley, Conway Turcotte and William Schwarzrock.
Paulson is pleased that it appears to be enough girls out to compete as a team. For a meet, five girls play and you use the score of four golfers.
To qualify for the state meet, golfers need to be either on one of the top four teams or be a top 15 individual at the divisional meet.
Paulson is pleased that the Wolf Point School Board recently approved adding junior high golf and tennis. T’Elle Evans will coach the junior high squad.
“I’m hoping to get big junior high numbers,” Paulson said. “That will benefit us and tennis.”
