Bisbee’s Book Featured At Festival Of Books
On April 26-27 at the University of Southern California, Vicki Bisbee’s “Counting Book 1-10” is to be presented at the LA Times Festival of Books.
As a retired school counselor and proud Assiniboine member, Bisbee has opened the door for readers into the Assiniboine language and culture through the beautiful counting book. Bisbee has been involved with education and preservation of Native American languages.
The book recognizes the movement to revitalize the Assiniboine (Nakóda) language, supported by Fort Peck Community College, Hardin Native American Church, among others. “Counting Book 1-10” is the means to learn and celebrate all of that.
Festival attendees will have the chance to explore this invaluable resource and gain insight into Assiniboine traditions.
