Although there are vacancies that need to be addressed by next fall, the Poplar School Board rehired administrators and teachers during its monthly meeting in March.

The school district is advertising for a middle school assistant principal. “We have a very experienced group of administrators,” Superintendent of Schools Keith Erickson said. Areas that the school district needs to fill include for food service and paraprofessionals.

The district has been looking for a middle school counselor for the past three or four years. Open teaching spots needed for next fall include a fifth-grade teacher, a fourth-grade teacher, two first-grade teachers, another high school counselor and an alternative learning instructor. The head coaching jobs for girls’ volleyball and girls’ basketball are also open.
