Wolves Gain Experience At Sidney Invitational Track Meet


The Wolf Point Wolves overcame cold weather and tough competition to perform well at the track meet in Sidney on Friday, April 18.
The Wolves accounted for 11.5 points in the girls’ division and four points in the boys’ division.
Miles City claimed top honors in the girls’ division with 104.33 points followed by Scobey with 66 and Sidney with 60.
Top boys’ teams were Glasgow with 110.5, Sidney with 100 and Miles City with 60.
Adalynn Smith ran to second- place honors in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 1:03.85.
Wolf Point’s girls’ 1600-meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 4:42.65. The relay consisted of Amirah Oleyte, Cadence Bouldin, Navella Weeks and Smith.
AnnaLeigh Matejovsky cleared 8-0 to earn fifth place in the pole vault. The eighth-grader took eighth in the triple jump at 31-2 and 10th in the long jump at 15-2.
Taking ninth were Bouldin in the 800 at 2:47.64 and Harper Weeks in the 300-meter hurdles at 57.93. The 400-meter relay team of N. Weeks, H. Weeks, Matejovsky and Smith finished 10th at 55.92 seconds. N. Weeks was 10th in the 200 at 29.4 seconds.
Girls with personal bests at the meet included Bouldin in the 800 and 1600, Smith in the 400, Ma’Kenzie Jackson in the shot put, Kaleah Whitebear in the shot put, Matejovsky in the pole vault, triple jump and long jump, N. Weeks in the pole vault and Mattie Azure in the long jump.
In the boys’ division, Sean Hamilton placed fourth in the discus at 123-3. The junior took seventh in the shot put at 39-3 and seventh in the javelin at 132-0.
Reilly Rees had personal bests in the 1600 and 3200. Michael Badhawk had a personal best in the shot put.
The Wolves track and field team will compete in Glendive on Friday, April 25.
