Montana Historical Society Digitizes Sheridan County Photo Collection


The Montana Historical Society is currently digitizing the photographs and scrapbooks of Henry and Edgar Syverud from Sheridan County. The collection, known as Lot 045, follows the brothers’ lives on the Montana-North Dakota-Canadian border. Born in Osnabrock, N,D., the two brothers eventually homesteaded in East Coalridge, near Dagmar, and remained there for 50 years. The photo collection

Donation Gives New School Program Great Start


A new program in the Wolf Point School District will enjoy a great start thanks to the Montana Masonic Foundation. On Thursday, Jan. 28, Masonic representatives Jeff Harada and Wade Riden presented a $1,700 check to Northside Elementary School Principal Georgie Gourneau along with teachers Andrew Tumonong and Ronnell Tumonong. MDU Awards Funds To Bigger Sky Kids


Bigger Sky Kids has been awarded a grant from the Montana-Dakota Utilities Resources Foundation in support of its class on Nakoda dance, stories and history. The MDU award matches¬ a Montana Arts Council grant made in July, 2020, which funded 50 percent of the project cost, according to BSK president Char Matejovsky.
