Fort Peck’s buffalo roam the windswept plains in zero degree weather at Turtle Mound Ranch near Wolf Point on Feb. 19. The program, which incorporates a cultural herd and livestock herd, contains about 1,100 bison and was started in 1999. Frontier Student Wins Roosevelt County Spelling Bee Championship


Gabe Uy of Frontier Schools came away with top honors from this year’s Roosevelt County spelling bee held in Brockton on Tuesday, March 3. Uy said his motivation included following in his brother Ernest’s footsteps as a county spelling champion. Ernest earned the title in 2012. Gabe said a sister and another brother also enjoyed success at the county level. Gabe won the contest in the
