The Culbertson Cowboys saved their best for last as they put together a solid game before losing to Circle, 45-37, in a District 2C tournament play-in game held in Culbertson on Saturday, Feb. 13. Bainville Girls Advance Into Tourney With Play-in Victory Over Brockton


The young Bainville girls’ basketball team qualified for the district tournament by downing Brockton, 61-17, in a play-in game on Saturday, Feb. 13. Brockton trailed by only a 12-9 margin late in the first quarter, but Bainville ended the quarter on a free throw by Lakyn Rabbe and a hoop by Sadie Ullmer for a 14-9 advantage. Froid/Lake Opens With Victory


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks fought off an inspired Bainville team, 45-32, in the opening round of the District 2C girls’ basketball tournament on Monday, Feb. 15. The Red Hawks accounted for the game’s first seven points on baskets by Carolyne Christoffersen and Dasani Nesbit along with a three-pointer by Baylee Davidson. Froid/Lake held a 16-9 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.
