On Jan. 11, Moderna, the company that produced the COVID-19 vaccine being used in Roosevelt County and on the Fort Peck Reservation, announced that protection from its vaccine should last a year. It will take a year for the statement to be proven, but this is welcome news as vaccination continues in our area and around the world. The Wolf Point IHS will conduct a vaccination clinic for IHS beneficiaries

Culbertson’s boys’ basketball team fell short to Fairview, 66-34, at home on Saturday, Jan. 16. Fairview led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter and 31-10 at the half. Culbertson’s boys’ basketball squad struggled in the second half as the Cowboys lost to Savage, 33-29, on Friday, Jan. 15. With the game’s outcome on the line, Culbertson’s girls stepped up their defense and edged Savage, 33-29, on Friday, Jan. 15. Ahead by only a 28-27 score, the Cowgirls added a free throw by Perla Purciaga with 2:24 remaining.
