District Volleyball Tourney Begins


The District 1C volleyball tournament started the night of Tuesday, Oct. 27, with matches at various locations. Because of COVID-19 precautions, the tournament matches will not be held at one location this year but rather at the higher seed’s home site. County Releases Updated Active Case Numbers


As of Sunday, Oct. 25, Roosevelt County had 113 current active cases of COVID-19. A total of cases with 19 deaths have been reported. As of Tuesday, Oct. 27, there were 129 active cases of COVID-19 in Indian Health Service-eligible persons living on the Fort Peck Reservation. This included 53 in Poplar, 54 in Wolf Point, nine in Frazer, nine in Brockton, and two each in Riverside and Fort Kipp.

Thanks to a donation of $5,000 from Whitney Williams and the Our Montana Fund of Montana Community Foundation in honor of Buzz and Laurie Mattelin, the County Cupboard food bank in Culbertson was able to restock their shelves during the first week of October. Culbertson School Jobs for Montana Graduates are hosting a nighttime event Monday, Oct. 22, to support suicide prevention efforts during Red Ribbon Week. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. and the race begins at 6 p.m. at the Culbertson football field. The event will cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids fourth grade and under.
