Grain Cars Derail Saturday East Of Wolf Point


A total of six grain cars derailed Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Montana Highway 13 railroad crossing east of Wolf Point. Three tipped over, spilling the grain they had been hauling. The crossing was blocked Saturday afternoon until the cars could be cleaned up and removed. The main line was not affected by the derailment. There were no injuries. (Photo by Darla Downs)

Fire Destroys Wolf Point House


An unoccupied house on the 300 block of Fifth Avenue South was destroyed by fire Sunday, Jan. 31. The Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department responded and was able to contain the fire to just the one structure, despite the nearness of trees on the south side of the home. Brockton Drops Conference Games


Brockton dropped its basketball games against Fairview and Circle during the week. Brockton’s boys lost to Fairview, 67-33, on Saturday, Jan. 30. Fairview led 23-0 at the end of the first quarter. Top scorers for Brockton were Treydyn Bauer with 15 and Allen Russell with 12. Adding three points each were Wambidi Yellow Hammer and Quannah First That Walks. Brockton lost to Circle, 43-24.
