John Grandchamp III, 22, of Wolf Point, has been found dead on the 300 block of Edgar Street on Wolf Point’s south side. According to Roosevelt County Undersheriff John Summers, Grandchamp was last seen Nov. 6. He was reported missing by his family, who believed he was in danger. Foul play is not suspected. Former Valley County Undersheriff Luke Strommen was released from the Roosevelt County Detention Center Monday, Nov. 18. A Nov. 15 hearing instituted new conditions for his release. Judge John Larson of Missoula revoked Strommen Oct. 22 after community members expressed concerns about conditions violations. He is currently awaiting a sentencing hearing in January following his guilty

The Wolf Point and Poplar High School speech, debate and drama team co-hosted a meet Nov. 9 in Poplar. Eleven schools competed and two observed. Testing the water supply in Brockton has become a challenge, according to a legal notice published in this newspaper Nov. 14. The notice, addressed to all community of Brockton water users, states, “We are required to monitor your drinking water for total coliform bacteria on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards.
