Montana’s unemployment rate declined in March to 3.8 percent, the state’s third consecutive month of lower unemployment rates. Nationwide, the unemployment rate was 6.0 percent during March.
“For the third consecutive month this year, Montana has seen the benefits of a safe reopening as our unemployment rate continues its downward trend,” Gov. Greg Gianforte said in a press release.

Water surface temperatures on Thursday ranged from 35 to 40 degrees, but quickly warmed to 47 degrees throughout our trap netting locations on Saturday. This prompted walleye to start cruising the shorelines once again in an attempt to spawn.

The Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a public hearing on May 13, at 9 a.m., to consider the proposed adoption and amendments of three new rules pertaining to the use of deer or elk urine to mask human odor.
The purpose of the new rules is to prevent the spread of chronic wasting disease, which can be present in the urine and glandular scents of infected deer and elk.
