On Jan. 11, Moderna, the company that produced the COVID-19 vaccine being used in Roosevelt County and on the Fort Peck Reservation, announced that protection from its vaccine should last a year. It will take a year for the statement to be proven, but this is welcome news as vaccination continues in our area and around the world. Christopher Spillman was sentenced for criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, during a hearing in district court on Wednesday, Jan. 21. A 72-year-old Rexford man died Saturday, Jan. 16, after the UTV he was in fell through the ice near Crooked Creek on Fort Peck Lake. The Petroleum County Sheriff’s Office reported that four fisherman were involved in an incident on the ice at Fort Peck lake near Crooked Creek Marina north of Winnett.
