Poplar’s girls’ wrestling team tied for second place in the team standings at the divisional meet with 109 points. The Indians tied with Fort Benton. Baker took first place with 150.5 points. Two Poplar wrestlers earned individual divisional championships. Angelina Escarcega captured the title at 100 pounds. Wolf Point qualified eight wrestlers for the state meet during the divisional tournament held in Huntley Project. Michael Bell captured the title at 285 pounds. The senior pinned Baker’s Logan Scherman in 5:25 for the championship. Bell won three other matches on pins during the weekend. Jesse Reed placed second at 150 pounds.
