Runners Earn Honors At Harlem Invitational


Poplar’s girls ran away with team honors from the Harlem Invitational cross country meet on Friday, Oct. 18. The Indians finished with a team score of 20 points. Harlem took second with 24 points and Chinook placed third with 28 points. Shelbi LaBrie of Whitewater was the individual winner with a time of 19:29.7. Poplar’s Journey Gourneau ran to a sixth-place finish at 21:11.1.

Poplar Drops Final Home Football Game Of Year Against Scobey Team


The Poplar football program honored its seniors on Saturday, Oct. 19, but the Indians then fell to a strong Scobey squad by a 60-0 final. There were highlights for the Indians, especially early on, in the conference game. Scobey scored on its third play from scrimmage when Kolten Machart broke loose for a 48-yard touchdown run. The Wolf Point Wolves found the going tough against a powerhouse Malta team and lost their homecoming football game by a 46-8 final on Friday, Oct. 11.
