Crowley Among Winners During Poplar Rodeo


Poplar’s Heather Crowley took first place in barrel racing during the Poplar rodeo held on Saturday, June 8. Crowley finished with a time of 15.26 seconds. Lindsay’s Bailee Murnion of Lindsay placed second with a time of 15.27 seconds. Tying for third at 15.28 were Flaxville’s Haven Linder and Rhame’s Sierra Lee. Wolf Point’s Airport Golf Course held its annual twoman best ball tournament this past weekend, which consisted of 46 two-man teams with players from around Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado. The appearance of All-American wrestler Shakur Rasheed attracted about 50 young athletes to Poplar for a wresting camp on Tuesday, May 28. Rasheed said he has conducted wrestling camps throughout many states during the last eight years, but this was his first trip to Montana.
