On Friday, July 10, Wolf Point hosted a baseball tournament for area “Babe Ruth” teams. Teams participating included Wolf Point, Froid, Glasgow and Plentywood.
The “Babe Ruth” league went forward this year locally after the national Babe Ruth League canceled the season due to COVID-19 concerns.
The first game was Wolf Point versus Plentywood. The action-packed game went into overtime

Local anglers Jason Eggebrecht of Fort Peck and Ross Lien of Glendive took the top honors at the Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament, which was held on Fort Peck July 10-11.
Eggebrecht and Lien had a combined two-day total of 80.97 pounds which gave them a new Montana Governor’s Cup record. The previous record of 70.04 was set last year. The pair caught 48.25 pounds of walleye on

takes place during the Wild Horse Stampede weekend. About $1,600 was raised.

The Wolf Point Bumblebees swept the girls’ minor Hi-Line championship tournament in Plentywood Wednesday, July 8.
The Bumblebees, girls ages nine-12, opened the tournament with a 10-0 shutout of Culbertson. Wolf Point then beat Plentywood 12-1 and topped Scobey A 6-5 for the championship.

The three-day Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede rodeo was held July 9-11 at Marvin Brookman Stadium.
Though many of the weekend’s events were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, rodeo-goers were treated to three days of high quality contestants and had plenty of room to socially-distance if they chose to. Results All-around cowboy: Zack Jongbloed, $229, tie-down roping and steer wrestling.
