Poplar’s Angelina Escarcega earned first-place honors at the Great Falls CMR Holiday Classic during the weekend. Escarcega won a 7-2 decision over Simms’ Hayley Petersen in the title match at 107 pounds. Escarcega pinned Corvallis’ Kaelynn Vanderpool in 2:24 during the semi-final round. Escarcega pinned Billings Skyview’s Danyka Doll in 23 seconds during the quarter-final round.

Frazer dropped both basketball contests during conference action against North Country on Friday, Dec. 15. In the girls’ game, North Country gained a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and increased the margin to 41-10 at the half. The Mavericks went on to a 70-20 victory. Lustre’s boys’ basketball team stayed undefeated with an 84-49 league victory in Nashua on Friday, Dec. 15. After leading 15-5 at the end of the first quarter, the Lions increased the gap to 41-20 at the half. The Lions ran off 28 points in the third quarter for a 6936 advantage. Lustre’s girls’ basketball squad scored a 60-21 road victory over Nashua on Friday, Dec. 15. The Lions dominated action in the first quarter and earned a 25-2 lead. After a 27-13 half-time score, Lustre accounted for 23 points in the third quarter for a 53-15 margin. Top scorers for the Lions were Alexa Reddig with 19, Lauryn Holzrichter with 17 and Aubri Holzrichter with 15 points.
