The Culbertson Cowboys cruised to a 76-26 home victory over Froid/Lake on Friday, Jan. 31. Froid/Lake opened the game with a three-pointer by Rylan Young, but the Cowboys ran off the next 17 points. Six points by Dawson Bergum, a three-pointer by Brooks Solem and two baskets by Plenny Williams highlighted the outburst. A basket by Gavin Deen off a pass from Ian Snyder ended the quarter

Red Hawks Defeat Cowgirls


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks led nearly the entire way and earned a 47-37 victory in Culbertson on Friday, Jan. 31. After the Cowgirls gained a 4-2 advantage on a drive by Mariana Burciaga early in the first quarter, the Red Hawks moved ahead 10-4 with a three-pointer by Brooklynn Nordwick and four points by Isabelle Nordwick leading the way. Cowboys Lose Close Game In Poplar


In a game that went down to the wire, Poplar’s boys’ basketball team came away with a 61-57 non-conference win over Culbertson on Tuesday, Jan. 28. A drive to end the third quarter by Wilder Bearcub put Poplar ahead by a 4338 advantage. Blake Lambert then connected on a three-pointer to increase the gap to 46-38 to open the final period. The Cowboys battled back with the next eight points.

Culbertson Girls Drop Game Against Indians


Despite a strong fight from the Culbertson Cowgirls, Poplar pulled out a 56-42 home victory on Tuesday, Jan. 28. With Poplar ahead only a 36-33 margin entering the fourth quarter, the Cowgirls cut the margin to 36-35 on a basket by Leandra Perkins to open the fourth quarter. The Indians then got their offense going on a three-pointer by Ashlyn Bull Chief. A basket inside by Toni Brown increased
