Badlands Celebration Adds Grand Entries

The Badlands Celebration saw additional grand entries and strong crowds over three days in Brockton June 24-26. Light turnout for camp sites didn’t seem to impact sales for Turcotte Food Bus. Buck Turcotte said lines were long and they were cooking nonstop. “Lots of dancers,” said Turcotte, “lots of spectators.” A second grand entry and nighttime program were added to the Sunday schedule.

Fair Entrees Due July 15, Contests Planned

Roosevelt County Fair manager Angela Miller noted that anyone hoping to submit fair entrees this year will need to do so by July 15. Online entrees are due by July 17. The Roosevelt County Fair is in Culbertson Aug. 9-13. The fair showcases local FFA, 4-H and open class exhibits. Open class exhibit categories include sewing and handwork, home arts, food and nutrition, digital arts and floriculture

MHSA Announces Staff Changes

The Montana High School Association has restructured the office in Helena with the following changes: Amy Bartels has been hired as an assistant director and will oversee the fine arts activities along with soccer and softball. Bartels will also continue to administer to the Montana Official’s Association and act as the spirit liaison. Greta Buehler has been promoted to be an assistant director.
