The new process will be simpler and allow the department to be more responsive to public input and resource needs. This year’s Montana paddlefish seasons kicked off on May 1 with the opening of the Upper Missouri River section from Fort Benton downstream to Fort Peck Dam. Anglers must have a White Harvest Tag to participate in catching and keeping a paddlefish from this section of the river. These tags are issued through a lottery system. The Roosevelt County Commissioners approved the Atkinson subdivision, as long as recommendations are made, during a special meeting on Tuesday, April 26. The property is located two miles east of Poplar. Approval of the subdivision will allow for a proposed Family Dollar/Dollar Tree store.
