Bainville’s Boys Knock Off Cowboys

The Bainville Bulldogs enjoyed a strong second quarter and defeated Culbertson, 53-39, for a road conference win on Saturday, Feb. 12. After trailing 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs outscored Culbertson 15-4 in the second period for a 23-15 half-time lead. Bainville held a 35-27 advantage after three quarters of play. Ayden Knudsen finished with 21 points to lead Bainville.

Cowboys Lose At Buzzer In First Round

The Culbertson Cowboys lost a heart-breaker in the first round of the District 2C basketball tournament when MonDak’s Erik Field hit a 30-footer at the buzzer to give the Thunder a 47-44 victory on Monday, Feb. 14. Culbertson trailed by a 34-29 margin entering the final period, but the Cowboys put together a great comeback during the last minute of action. A free throw by Maurice Bighorn
