Cowboys Open Season With Home Victory Over Chinook
Culbertson’s defensive unit was ready for the football season as the Cowboys held Chinook scoreless for most of the game to earn an 18-8 opening victory.
“Defensively, we looked good,” Culbertson Coach Brian Manning said after the game.
He mentioned the solid defensive play of Nyreece Halvorson and Mark Kirkaldie up-front along with strong performances from Gavin Deen, Micah Eagleboy
Runners Place At Wolf Point Invitational
The Culbertson/Bainville cross-country team opened its season at the Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25.
Rebekah Ellerkamp, a freshman, finished in 13th place with a time of 27:08.66 to lead the squad.
Top runners in the girls’ division were Scobey’s Mya Green at 21:39.86, Scobey’s Mia Handran at 21:57.91, Fairview’s Sophie Sundheim at 23:30.74, Richey/Lambert’s Brynne Hill
Cowgirls Improve During Tourney
The Culbertson Cowgirls advanced as far as the semi-final round during the Culbertson Invitational held on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Savage defeated Scobey in the championship match of the eight-team volleyball tournament.
