The Froid/Lake boys’ basketball squad came away with a fourth-place showing from the Eastern C divisional tournament in Glasgow. The tourney featured two victories and two close defeats for the Red Hawks. Froid/Lake opened the tournament with a 58-34 win over Lustre on Wednesday. The Froid/Lake girls’ basketball team came a game away from the state tournament when the Red Hawks fell by a 47-39 final against MonDak in Plentywood on Monday night, March 2. Froid/Lake earned third place at the Eastern C divisional tournament and ended the season with a 19-7 record. Against MonDak in the challenge game, the Red Hawks trailed by a 37-28 margin entering the final quarter.

David Joseph “Joey” Cord, 25, was sentenced in Roosevelt County District Court in Wolf Point Feb. 12 after a jury found him guilty of sexual assault on Sept. 13, 2019. The Culbertson town council held its regular meeting Monday, Feb. 10, at town hall. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Following roll call, the agenda was approved. Minutes were approved for the Jan. 13 regular meeting.
