Red Hawks Win District 2C Tournament Title


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks won their first District 2C boys’ basketball tournament championship since 2006 when they defeated MonDak, 62-27, in Sidney on Saturday, Feb. 20. “It’s huge,” Froid/Lake Coach Josh Stentoft said about winning the district title. Froid/Lake Girls Place Second


The Froid/Lake girls’ basketball team couldn’t get its offense going as the Red Hawks fell to Plentywood, 42-24, in the District 2C tournament’s championship game on Friday, Feb. 19. The Red Hawks trailed by an 8-2 margin early, but Mara Salvevold scored off an assist from Dasani Nesbit late in the opening quarter. A basket by Ashtyn Curtiss put Plentywood ahead 10-4 to end the quarter.

In a game to decide the District 2C’s fifth berth to the divisional tournament, Bainville’s boys experienced a tough third quarter and lost to Plentywood, 75-55, in Sidney on Saturday, Feb. 20. Cowgirls Come Game Short Of Divisional Berth


The Culbertson Cowgirls came just one game away from qualifying for the divisional tournament when they lost to Savage, 38-35, at the District 2C tournament on Friday, Feb. 19.
