Matt Giese was appointed to fill Chuck Hyatt’s position on the Bainville Town Council Feb. 8. Giese has served previously. Ron Butikoker was voted council president. Butikofer offered thanks to Hyatt on behalf of the council. Minutes were passed for the Jan. 19 meeting. No public comment was offered. Brockton Loses Games To Thunder


The Brockton Warriors lost both of its basketball games against MonDak on Friday, Feb. 5. In the girls’ game, MonDak earned a 44-9 victory. The Thunder led 17-2 at the end of the first quarter and by a 40-4 half-time margin. Scoring for Brockton were Kyra Stormy with five and Ava Lone Bear with four points. Leading MonDak were Brynn Folvag with 19 and Elizabeth Field with 16 points.

Bainville Winterfest Court Named


The Bainville Bulldogs celebrated Winterfest during and after the Friday night basketball games Feb. 5. Seniors Donna Butikofer and Kaden Hansen were crowned king and queen between varsity home games. Trevor Robertus and Madysen Lesch were named junior high prince and princess and freshman Austin Petow and junior Micah Anderson were named high school prince and princess. Montana Historical Society Digitizes Sheridan County Photo Collection


The Montana Historical Society is currently digitizing the photographs and scrapbooks of Henry and Edgar Syverud from Sheridan County. The collection, known as Lot 045, follows the brothers’ lives on the Montana-North Dakota-Canadian border. Born in Osnabrock, N,D., the two brothers eventually homesteaded in East Coalridge, near Dagmar, and remained there for 50 years. The photo collection
