Both of Culbertson's basketball squads struggled offensively and lost at Plentywood on Friday night. The Cowgirls fell by a 58-33 final and the Cowboys were defeated by a 49-30 margin. In the girls' game, Culbertson got off to a good start as the scoring of Faith Bowland led the team to a 12-9 lead. Points by Liv Wangerin cut the margin to 12-11 at the end of the opening quarter.

According to Culbertson Schools principal Mike Olson, 12 students competed at the divisional meet, with 10 students competing in the final rounds. Minutes for the Jan. 21 meeting were approved, as were minutes for a special administrative meeting to discuss a new diesel engine for the weed district Jan. 22. The commissioners approved changes to the county’s credit card purchases policy. Employees will no longer be able to shop on Amazon with county resources.
