Roosevelt County commissioners discussed a pay increase for non-elected officials during their meeting on Monday, June 20. Commissioner Duane Nygaard proposed a pay increase of 2.75 percent. Commissioner Gary Macdonald seconded the motion. Nygaard said that he feels that commissioners need to work on a new wage scale so that there’s not as large of a pay difference between new employees

John David Panasuk was sentenced by District Judge David J. Cybulski on Wednesday, June 15, for the charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A jury found Panasuk guilty to the charges during a trial held in district court March 17. Roosevelt County attorney Frank Piocos recommended a five-year sentence for Panasuk.
